AXS TV THE WORLD’S GREATEST TRIBUTE BANDS CCR TRIBUTE FORTUNATE SON THE WHISKY-A-Go-Go 9/23/2014

The third show of Season 4 of AXS TV’s The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands featured Fortunate Son – a tribute to Credence Clearwater Revival (CCR).

The band has toured the world for almost 20 years paying tribute to CCR and is the longest running CCR tribute band in existence.

After playing in various other tribute bands, Brad Ford started performing CCR’s special brand of swamp rock country as a tribute band in 1986.   Fortunate Son have performed their live shows across several continents and have performed for our troops, both domestically and abroad.

The show at the Whisky started off with Katie’s introduction from the side stage as the band kicked into GREEN RIVER, followed up with BORN ON THE BAYOU, FORTUNATE SON (the band’s namesake track), and BAD MOON RISING (which was kind of hilarious with the often misinterpreted verse “….there’s a bathroom on the right” (instead of “….there’s a bad moon on the rise”) since directly across from Stage Right at the Whisky – true story).

During the telecast, Katie Daryl made mention on Twitter of how many hits CCR has churned out – and she sure was right – Fortunate Son continued on with HEY TONIGHT, DOWN ON THE CORNER, LOOKING OUT MY BACK DOOR, RUN THROUGH THE JUNGLE, GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY, LODI, SUZI Q and the first part of the show went to commercial break with UP AROUND THE BEND.

After the commercial break, the string of hits continued with PROUD MARY, MIDNIGHT SPECIAL, WHO WILL STOP THE RAIN/HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE RAIN and finished up with TRAVELIN’ BAND to a delighted crowd.
