Fans of all ages seemed to come from everywhere to take part in the Nirvana Experience, which aired live Monday night on AXS TV’s World’s Greatest Tribute Bands hosted by Katie Daryl.
The Nirvana Experience paid tribute to Nirvana on what is the 20 year anniversary of the death of Kurt Cobain. There was already a long line past Rock and Reilly’s well in advance of the doors opening.
In the true spirit of grunge, those in attendance wearing flannel were allowed front of the line privileges.
Decked out in flannel herself, Katie Daryl did an introduction to the show and The Nirvana Experience kicked it into high gear with “In Bloom”.
As evidenced in this photo by Jim Lott, the place was packed and the fans were going crazy.
As Kurt Cobain was seemingly resurrected for the show, the building was literally shaking as the fans and music rocked the Sunset Strip. Nirvana Experience is a musically impressive trio and hearing these songs transported the audience back to the early 1990s. The songs they played really rocked. Some were even bordering on metal. Nirvana definitely wrote, recorded and performed a bunch of great songs in their day and this band did a great job capturing it. In a way, it was somewhat of an emotional event. To those in attendance and perhaps watching at home, the music and performance definitely brought on some interesting feelings.

The tickets for the AXS Tribute shows are free to attend, but Katie told the audience this band needs to be seen again and made a GREAT point that they are definitely worth paying to see and fans should pay to see these tribute acts when they hit your town.
All these tribute acts are very deserving of a good price tag for concert tickets to their shows.
At the conclusion of the band’s performance, Katie headed outside with them so they could take pictures with fans in front of the Whisky. A great time was had by all.
